CAMDEN – Camden County College students celebrated spring and the conclusion of the school year with free food, music and cotton candy at Spring Fling on April 19. Rain forced organizers to hold the event inside the Camden campus’s main building instead of in the courtyard.

Local organizations gathered at the annual event to promote their special offers to college students, parents and high school students who are committed to enrolling at CCC. Organizations such as the PATCO Hi-Speedline, Cooper Health Care, PNC Bank, Rutgers University and League of Woman Voters attended.
PATCO has been transporting many of the Camden campus’s students for years but had a different goal for attending the event. The transit agency was promoting student deals on its monthly passes for riders who commute to and from class on a weekly basis.
CCC student Mathew Falcone of Cherry Hill said he benefited by attending the event. “This is an awesome opportunity for students to communicate with one another on a professional level, while making friends. Not only is the transportation easy, but carpooling is always a great option,” said Falcone.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to mingle with friends and peers while eating a variety of foods. Sodexo food services sponsored the event by preparing hoagies, pasta salad, sweet desserts, chips and drinks for everyone in attendance. All around the event, visitors making balloon animals, playing games, receiving tattoos, dancing and networking with peers.
The event was organized by Assistant Dean of Students Jackie Tenuto, who kicked off a Cupid Shuffle line dance and then led students into the Wobble moments later.
“I estimated roughly about 400 to 500 visitors attended today,” Tenuto stated. “I want every student connecting to our institution, while establishing a great network.”
