BLACKWOOD – The Seventh Annual Literature Live took place April 19 in Civic Hall on the Camden County College Blackwood campus. The event consisted of literary readings by members of the faculty, administration, staff, student body and greater community of Camden County College.

The CCC Mad Lit Club presents Literature Live each year. The club’s adviser, Keith O’Shaughnessy, has run the event each time. The presenters at this year’s event were Eileen Radetich, Ryan Terrell, Hoda Zaki, Andrea Vinci, David Hodges, Tamikka Malloy, Faleeha Hassan, Juan Laracuente, Rebecca Force, Nicole Rollender, Keith O’Shaughnessy, Rachel Dormanchich, Cayla Johnston and Luke Hopeisel. Each presenter had written and read a poem or short story. They read 22 poems and short stories of different genres and literary styles at the event.

This was Rollender’s first time presenting at Literature Live. Rollender read original poems titled “Eating Honey” and “Aperture.” Rollender said she has been writing poetry and short stories for about 35 years, starting when she was about 4. “I like this event. I think it’s cool to see so many different types of literature and so many different poets. My advice to anyone who is writing is that you should keep writing and perseverance is the number one way to succeed,” said Rollender.

The Mad Lit program is part of the Madison Literary Society of Camden County College. For more information on the group, email koshaughnessy@camdencc.edu.
